The background shifts in color with the time of day, and your cursor leaves soft brush strokes as it moves, loose and visible, the way the Impressionists painted. The phase of the day you land on depends on the hour you arrive. And each phase features a unique piece by an Impressionist composer.

Why This Design
The Impressionists have always impressed me, both the painters and the composers. Less for what they made, more for how they went about their craft.
Painters used loose strokes instead of clean lines and left the picture unfinished. The composers did the same in sound. A piece could just trail off instead of tying up. They cared more about how a place felt than how exact it looked. Most of our days are the same too. Small, daily mistakes only matter up close. If we step back and look at the entire canvas, those imperfections lose their weight.
They painted ordinary things, a café, a garden, a stretch of river. And they'd paint the same scene over and over to catch the light as it moved. The scene was never the same for them. Neither is anything else worth paying attention to in life. Every passing moment is there for us to observe its unique beauty until it changes for good.
And lastly, they challenged what counted as good art by institutions and society and created on their own terms. It reminds me to carve my own path, trust my own experiences, and stay true to myself as much as I can. We don't have to follow the script to make something real.
I think these are the real reasons why they stuck with me. It's how I've tried to live. I skipped the path I was supposed to take, and I'm learning to be okay with a story that keeps being reshaped. This site works the same way. It includes a few things worth noticing, but not a complete, finished account of me.
